Dodecky

Our flagship model. A beautiful combo unit with a 12″ Jensen speaker and amplifier reminiscent of the classic Vibro Champ.

Pictures will be posted soon. Click here for the sound demos.

Here is Sheldon’s description of the amplifier circuit:

The circuit we chose for this amp was influenced by my personal take on amps in general. Of all the amps I have played over the years, my favorites have only two knobs—volume and tone. I like an amp that really shows the different voices of your guitars. Your Strat, Tele, Les Paul, 335, or in my case my DanElectros and Silvertones, all have very unique sounds. Dodecky is an amp for folks who like to use the knobs on their guitars. An amp where your picking hand determines whether your tone is creamy or crunchy—-not another channel or stompbox.
Our amp is basically a vibro champ. Hand wired point to point—premium components. 1 5y3, 1 6V6,  2 12ax7. Volume, bass, treble. Tweed switch, which bypasses the tone circuit and increases the gain. Speed and intensity for the tremolo. The 6V6 is traditionally about a 10 watt tube. Ours is voiced to run a tad hotter.

Todd’s description of the cabinet:

I have always felt that cabinets are largely ignored in the guitar world. As long as it sounds good, who cares what it looks like? Throw it in a square box, cover it with something and ship it. No. Tone is 63% of the cabinet equation. I design cabinets that encourage you to play. Cabinets that are as unique as you are.

Dodecky is our flagship model. It is a throw back to a vintage era, though not stuck in the past. I designed Dodecky as a 12 sided cabinet build out of ¾” appleply plywood and MDF. Appleply is the super dense, 11 layer plywood used typically for cabinet drawer sides. I use it for the cabinet because it is strong as hell, very dense and stable.  The back of the amp is partially closed to enhance the depth of tone. The cabinet allows the amp to really breath, but not fall apart with heavy bass or distortion; it has an incredible depth not usually seen on a mid sized combo unit like this.

The finish is a gloss black/red combination. Zero tolex. This is a cabinet that demands to be seen and heard. You won’t throw it in the closet after playing. By putting the classic amp in the larger cabinet, and due to the shape of the cabinet, we get and incredible range of tone out of the classic circuit. I know you will love it.
